Phase stability and microstructure morphology of microwave-sintered magnesia-partially stabilised zirconia

Guo Chen et al.

Summary: This study introduced microwave heating into the preparation process of zirconia materials to improve stability and microstructure of MgO-partially stabilised zirconia (MgO-PSZ). The effects of microwave heating on phase stability, microstructure, and surface morphology were evaluated, showing that microwave treatment significantly increased the stability rate of MgO-PSZ sample. Additionally, a decrease in m-ZrO2 phase content and improvement in microstructure were observed in the microwave-sintered MgO-PSZ sample. This research provided optimal microwave heating conditions for enhanced performance of MgO-PSZ material and laid a foundation for further research on zirconia materials prepared using microwave heating technology.

Kinetics characteristics and microwave reduction behavior of walnut shell-pyrolusite blends

Kangqiang Li et al.

Summary: The study shows that combining biomass pyrolysis with microwave heating technologies is an efficient way to reduce low-grade pyrolusite. The optimal reduction parameters include a reduction temperature of 650 degrees C, a holding time of 30 min, a M-bio/M-ore ratio of 1.8:10, and a microwave power of 1200 W.

Optimisation on the stability of CaO-doped partially stabilised zirconia by microwave heating

Yeqing Ling et al.

Summary: The study utilized controllable microwave heating to improve the stability of partially stabilized zirconia, and found that the stability increased with higher heating temperatures. Experimental results indicated that the martensitic transformation temperature of zirconia was reduced under microwave radiation.

Effect of doping CeO2 and Sc2O3 on structure, thermal properties and sintering resistance of YSZ

Xiaodong Wei et al.

Summary: This paper investigated the effects of CeO2 and Sc2O3 doping on YSZ, where CeO2 increased cell volume and tetragonal degree while Sc2O3 had the opposite effect. The results showed that co-doping with CeO2 and Sc2O3 improved thermal conductivity and provided stability against phase transformation, making CeScYSZ an ideal material for thermal protection at higher temperatures.

Influence of compatibility between sol and intermediate layer on the performance of yttria-stabilized zirconia nanofiltration membrane

Xiaowei Da et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the synergistic effect of the sol and intermediate layer on the performance of YSZ nanofiltration membranes. It was found that the performance of YSZ membranes strongly depends on the sol concentration and the pore size of the intermediate layer. Maintaining compatibility between the sol and intermediate layer is essential for fabricating high-performance NF membranes.
