Structural, magnetic, and electrical evaluations of rare earth Gd3+doped in mixed Co-Mn spinel ferrite nanoparticles

Summary: In this study, rare earth-doped Gd oxide in mixed Co-Mn spinel ferrite nanoparticles was synthesized using a sol-gel autocombustion approach. The magnetic and electrical properties decreased with increasing Gd3+ ion content, but the samples exhibited semiconducting behavior.

XPS analysis of bridging and non-bridging oxygen in Yb3+-Er3+-Tm3+-doped zinc-tellurite glasses

Summary: The influence of Er3+, Yb3+, and Tm3+ on the network structure of zinc-tellurite glasses was investigated through refractive index and high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The rare-earth ions were found to play a crucial role in the formation of non-bridging oxygen (NBO) atoms. XPS analysis showed that an increase in rare-earth ion concentration led to the promotion of NBO formation in the glass network.

Summary: The synthesized core-shell cobalt ferrite@barium titanate (CFO@BTO) nanoparticles were successfully functionalized with anticancer drugs and showed excellent targeting effects on tumor cells in the presence of an external magnetic field. In vitro studies confirmed the magneto-electric properties of the nanoparticles and their enhanced cytotoxicity compared to free drugs under magnetic field.

Synthesis of Gd2O3 Nanoparticles and Their Photocatalytic Activity for Degradation of Azo Dyes

Summary: Gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) nanoparticles were prepared through the reaction of gadolinium nitrate hexahydrate and ethylamine, and used as a photocatalyst for the degradation of various azo dyes under UV light irradiation. The photocatalytic degradation efficiency of Gd2O3 nanoparticles for different azo dyes was found to follow a pseudo first-order reaction rate law with varying experimental parameters.
