Summary: The study found that approximately 1,677 new breast cancer cases in France each year could be attributed to long-term exposure to NO2, accounting for 3.15% of the incident cases, with estimated tangible and intangible costs of €825 million. The results suggest that reducing long-term exposure to NO2 or correlated air pollutants could lower the risk of breast cancer.
