Hemoglobin A1c and Cardiovascular Outcomes Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Insights From a Large Single-Center Registry

Usman Baber et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the association between pre-procedural glycated hemoglobin (HbA(1c)) levels and post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) outcomes in a large contemporary cohort. The results showed a U-shaped relationship between HbA(1c) levels and 1-year major adverse cardiac events (MACE) risk, with low levels (<= 5.5%) associated with increased risk of death and high levels (>8.0%) associated with increased risk of myocardial infarction.
