Dynamic disintegration processes accompanying transport of an earthquake-induced landslide

Ge Gao et al.

Summary: The study aims to understand the dynamic disintegration and transport behavior of an earthquake-induced landslide using a dynamic discrete element method. Numerical results illustrate the process of internal rock damage, fragmentation, and pulverization under seismic loading, as well as the impact of locally high dilatancy and energetic collisions on the deformation patterns within granular assemblies.
