Lighting quantity indexes for lighting traditional Chinese paintings based on pigments protection and substrates protection in museums

Rui Dang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the light sensitivity of traditional Chinese paintings in museum lighting and establishes a mathematical relationship between mechanical damage and illuminance, time. By studying this relationship, recommended illuminance and annual exposure values for samples can be calculated.

The mathematical expression of damage law of museum lighting on dyed artworks

Rui Dang et al.

Summary: The study established a mathematical model for color damage of dyed artworks, taking into account the effects of exposure and light source spectra. Through experimental methods, the color change patterns of 23 pigments were determined, validating the effectiveness of the proposed mathematical model in expressing the damage caused by museum lighting on dyed artworks.
