Multiplexed and amplified chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (CRET) detection of genes and microRNAs using dye-loaded hemin/G-quadruplex-modified UiO-66 metal-organic framework nanoparticles

Pu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, dye-loaded UiO-66 metal-organic framework nanoparticles modified with catalytic hemin/G-quadruplex DNAzyme labels were utilized for chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (CRET) analysis of miRNAs and genes. The engineered hairpin probes, caged G-quadruplex domains, and self-assembly of hemin/G-quadruplex DNAzyme labels allowed for sensitive detection of specific miRNAs and genes. The DNA hairpin-functionalized dye-loaded NMOF sensing modules were also applied for amplified miRNA or gene CRET-based sensing platforms, demonstrating multiplexed detection capabilities.

A uniformly decorated and photostable polydopamine-organic semiconductor to boost the photoelectrochemical water splitting performance of CdS photoanodes

Mengnan Ruan et al.

Summary: A photostable polymer PDA was introduced to enhance the PEC performance by forming a uniform inorganic-organic hybrid heterostructure with CdS, resulting in improved electrode stability and photocurrent density. The addition of Co-Pi co-catalyst further promoted water oxidation kinetics, leading to significantly increased photocurrent density compared to bare CdS. This strategy offers valuable insights for designing inorganic-organic uniform heterostructures to enhance PEC performance.
