Improvement of two-stage composting of green waste by addition of eggshell waste and rice husks

Wei Wang et al.

Summary: This study found that adding 10% eggshell waste and 25% rice husks in the two-stage composting of green waste can produce the highest quality compost in the shortest time. It took 30 days to produce a stable and mature product, but only 20 days with the addition of 10% eggshell waste and 25% rice husks.

Effects of phosphogypsum and medical stone on nitrogen transformation, nitrogen functional genes, and bacterial community during aerobic composting

Liusheng Lei et al.

Summary: This study found that adding MS and PPM significantly reduced NH3 and N2O emissions, while PPG slightly increased N2O emissions. Different functional bacteria played key roles in nitrification and denitrification during different composting stages. PPM obtained the greatest reductions in NH3 and N2O release via the regulation of environmental variables, nitrogen functional genes, and the bacterial community.

Microbial succession and molecular ecological networks response to the addition of superphosphate and phosphogypsum during swine manure composting

Liusheng Lei et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of superphosphate (SPP) and phosphogypsum (PPG) on bacterial and fungal community succession and molecular ecological networks during composting. Both additives affected microbial diversity, with PPG showing better results in both richness and diversity. Additionally, SPP had more adverse effects on fungal networks compared to PPG.
