Scale-up of a Fibonacci-Type Photobioreactor for the Production ofDunaliella salina

Juan Pablo Diaz et al.

Summary: The study scaled up and optimized the Fibonacci-type photobioreactor for efficient production of green cells of Dunaliella salina. The results showed that the reactor could maintain optimal temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen concentration outdoors, significantly increasing biomass concentration and productivity.

Interactive effects of light quality and culturing temperature on algal cell size, biomass doubling time, protein content, and carbohydrate content

Xiangpeng Li et al.

Summary: The study found significant impacts of different light qualities and culturing temperatures on protein and carbohydrate content. Blue light and a temperature of 24°C or 28°C resulted in higher protein content, while red-orange light and a temperature of 24°C enhanced carbohydrate content. Temperature stress or nutrient stress reduced the effect of light quality on protein and carbohydrate content.

Orange light spectra filtered through transparent colored polyvinyl chloride sheet enhanced pigment content and growth of Arthrospira cells

Santosh Kumar et al.

Summary: The study found that light spectra filtered through orange PVCS significantly increased the biomass and nutrient content of microalgae, as this spectrum was more easily absorbed by the microalgae and utilized for photosynthesis.
