Structure and folding of four putative kink turns identified in structured RNA species in a test of structural prediction rules

Lin Huang et al.

Summary: k-Turns are key structural elements in various classes of RNA molecules, whose folding properties and conformation are determined by their local sequence. Rules have been developed to predict these properties from sequence. Experimental data confirms the predicted folding and conformational properties of k-Turns, demonstrating the robustness of the folding rules for new k-Turns with unknown characteristics.
