Rats Maintain Optimal Choice When Facing Long Terminal Links in a Suboptimal Choice Procedure

Rodrigo Alba et al.

Summary: The study found that increasing the duration of terminal links can eliminate rats' optimal behavior in the suboptimal choice procedure. Experimental results showed that rats preferred the optimal alternative in all conditions, and their choices varied depending on the configuration of stimuli associated with the terminal links.

Partial reinforcement in rat autoshaping with a long CS: Effects of pramipexole and chlordiazepoxide on sign and goal tracking

Esmeralda Fuentes-Verdugo et al.

Summary: The study investigated the behavioral dynamics of rats in Pavlovian autoshaping under PR and CR conditions. Results highlighted the roles of dopamine and GABA receptors in autoshaping performance, but did not provide a conclusive answer regarding incentive hope and frustration theories. Within-trial changes in sign and goal tracking were consistent with a mixture of reward timing and response competition.
