Genome-wide association of the metabolic shifts underpinning dark-induced senescence in Arabidopsis

Feng Zhu et al.

Summary: Research using a genome-wide association approach characterized the metabolic shifts during dark-induced senescence, identifying 215 associations with 81 candidate genes. The roles of four genes in dark-induced senescence were validated, along with the association between tyrosine contents and transcriptional activity. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms affecting gene expression were found to underlie variation in threonine and glycine levels in the dark.
