Microphysical Characteristics and Evolution of Seeded Orographic Clouds

Summary: The study analyzes the microphysical processes leading to snowfall resulting from cloud seeding with silver iodide. It finds that more silver iodide does not necessarily produce more liquid equivalent snowfall. The day with the most widespread supercooled drizzle, highest wind shear, and greater liquid water content along and downwind of the seeding track produced the greatest amount of liquid equivalent snowfall through seeding, while the day with the least supercooled drizzle and the lowest LWC downwind of the seeding track produced the smallest amount of liquid equivalent snowfall through seeding.
