Effect of human thermal plume and ventilation interaction on bacteria-carrying particles diffusion in operating room microenvironment

Summary: In the operating room, ventilation and thermal plumes significantly affect the distribution of bacteria-carrying particles, especially in the presence of human thermal plumes. The study showed that ventilation and thermal plumes interact to impact the diffusion of particles, with a critical air supply velocity of 0.25 m/s for effective control. Increasing air supply velocity alone is not sufficient to control the effect of thermal plumes on bacteria-carrying particles.
