Contemporary perspectives on the genetics and clinical use of lipoprotein(a) in preventive cardiology

Michael M. Page et al.

Summary: The pathogenicity of Lp(a) as a risk factor for ASCVD is well recognized, but measuring it is not routine. Recent research on genetic influences on Lp(a) and development of therapeutic agents highlight its clinical relevance. Gene-silencing technology is emerging as a leading therapeutic approach for lowering Lp(a) levels.
