Gaia Early Data Release 3 The astrometric solution

L. Lindegren et al.

Summary: Gaia EDR3 provides full astrometric data for 1.468 billion sources, including 585 million with five-parameter solutions and 882 million with six parameters, as well as mean positions at J2016.0 for an additional 344 million sources. Five-parameter solutions are generally more accurate and available for 93% of sources brighter than the 17th magnitude, with median uncertainties of 0.02-0.03 mas for parallax and proper motion at G = 9-14, and around 0.5 mas at G = 20. Extensive characterization of the solutions' statistical properties is provided, including the estimated angular power spectrum of parallax bias from quasars.

Rotation periods for cool stars in the open cluster NGC 3532 The transition from fast to slow rotation

D. J. Fritzewski et al.

Summary: The study measured 176 photometric rotation periods for cluster members and identified an additional 113 rotation periods using activity information, resulting in a total sample of 279 rotation periods for FGKM stars in NGC 3532. The color-period diagram shows a structured slow rotator sequence and a fast rotator sequence evolved beyond zero-age main sequence age. The observations suggest a shorter crossing time for the rotational gap, estimated to be around 80 Myr for early-K dwarfs.
