Preparation of decellularized optic nerve grafts

Bengisu Topuz et al.

Summary: Decellularized optic nerve tissues were prepared using different detergent protocols, with TX-100 and TX-100-SD found to be the most effective in preserving GAG content. The decellularization methods showed no cytotoxic properties on L929 mouse fibroblast cells, with a minimum of 95% cell viability observed across all groups. The combination of TX-100-SD and TX-100-SDS was determined to be the most effective method for optic nerve decellularization in the literature.

Sulfated glycosaminoglycans in decellularized placenta matrix as critical regulators for cutaneous wound healing

Chen Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the glycosaminoglycanomics of decellularized extracellular matrices (dECMs) from perinatal tissues were investigated, highlighting the critical roles of sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in promoting tissue regeneration. The placenta-derived dECM hydrogel showed superior therapeutic effects due to higher contents of chondroitin sulfate with 6-O-sulfo group (CS-6S) and heparan sulfate with 6-O-sulfo group (HS-6S), which play important roles in inflammation and angiogenesis. This study provides insight into the use of placenta-derived ECM hydrogel for regenerative applications.

Myocardial repair of bioengineered cardiac patches with decellularized placental scaffold and human-induced pluripotent stem cells in a rat model of myocardial infarction

Yu Jiang et al.

Summary: The study found that a decellularized placenta scaffold contains multiple growth and angiogenic factors that enhance the maturation and survival of seeded hiPSC-CMs. Transplantation of a bioengineered cardiac patch (BCP) is superior to using placenta or hiPSC-CMs alone in reducing infarct size and improving cell retention and neovascularization.

Optimization of decellularized human placental macroporous scaffolds for spermatogonial stem cells homing

Fatemeh Asgari et al.

Summary: The decellularized scaffold with 0.5%/30 SDS/Triton was found to have minimal negative effects on ECM, making it an excellent platform for tissue engineering applications. Different concentrations and incubation times had varying effects on swelling ratios and cell viability. The colony formation of spermatogonial stem cells was clearly observed within the scaffold.
