Local structure of Pt species dictates remarkable performance on Pt/Al2O3 for preferential oxidation of CO in H2

Yang Chen et al.

Summary: This study found that Pt nanoparticles supported on an inert substrate can catalyze total CO conversion and CO2 selectivity over a broad temperature range, depending on the local structure of Pt active centers. The ensemble of Pt(OH) and metallic Pt plays a critical role in this process.

Defective domain control of TiO2 support in Pt/TiO2 for room temperature formaldehyde (HCHO) remediation

Waleed Ahmad et al.

Summary: Synthesizing defective anatase TiO2 through chemical vapor condensation and impregnating with Pt resulted in a Pt/CVC-TiO2 catalyst with high efficiency in removing HCHO at room temperature, demonstrating good stability over time. The study highlighted the synergistic relationship between oxygen vacancies in the TiO2 support and the resulting HCHO oxidation functionality.

Surface Lattice Oxygen Activation by Nitrogen-Doped Manganese Dioxide as an Effective and Longevous Catalyst for Indoor HCHO Decomposition

Jinwei Chen et al.

Summary: The thermodynamic stability of oxygen vacancy in catalytic oxidation of formaldehyde can be improved by nitrogen doping, leading to enhanced catalytic activity and stability of MnO2/C catalyst for HCHO oxidation. The nitrogen-doped MnO2/C catalyst can completely remove around 1 ppm of HCHO within 3 hours and remains highly active even after 5 cycles at room temperature, showing great potential for application in the field of HCHO oxidation.
