Synthesis of g-C3N4/W-SBA-15 Composites for Photocatalytic Degradation of Tetracycline Hydrochloride

Yongzheng Duan et al.

Summary: The addition of g-C3N4 to W-SBA-15 was found to significantly improve the photocatalytic degradation properties, with the g-C3N4(3.0)/W-SBA-15 exhibiting the highest catalytic activity, nearly 4.3 times greater than that of W-SBA-15. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4/W-SBA-15 is attributed to the formation of heterojunction between g-C3N4 and tungsten species, leading to effective separation of photo-generated charge carriers and increased absorption of visible light.

Lopamudra Acharya et al.

Summary: A series of e-BN/e-CN nanocomposites were successfully prepared using a simple in situ technique, with high-resolution transmission electron microscopy confirming the successful deposition of e-BN on e-CN. Electrochemical measurements showed that the 1.5 wt % e-BN/e-CN nanocomposites exhibited 1.5 times more photocurrent than e-CN, indicating the formation of a successful e-BN/e-CN heterostructure. The enhanced photocatalytic activities of the e-BN/e-CN photocatalysts were attributed to improved light-harvesting ability and enhanced charge carrier separation efficiency.
