Metal-organic frameworks derived anatase/rutile heterostructures with enhanced reaction kinetics for lithium and sodium storage

Guilong Liu et al.

Summary: The fabricated anatase-rutile heterostructure TiO2 electrode with abundant oxygen vacancies exhibited enhanced electronic/ionic transport and improved pseudo-capacitive behaviors. The theoretical calculation confirmed that the heterostructure favored the connection between TiO2 and carbon layers, leading to improved electronic conductivity and lower migration energy barriers for Li+ and Na+.

Investigating the role of oxygen vacancies and basic site density in tuning methanol selectivity over Cu/CeO2 catalyst during CO2 hydrogenation

Rajan Singh et al.

Summary: The study focuses on CeO2, ZrO2 and ZnO supported Cu catalysts, with Cu/ZnO showing the highest CO2 conversion rate and Cu/CeO2 demonstrating over 90% methanol selectivity at lower temperatures. The high methanol selectivity of Cu/CeO2 catalyst may be attributed to its excess surface oxygen vacancies and higher basic site density.

Oxygen-vacancy-mediated LaFe1-xMnxO3-delta perovskite nanocatalysts for degradation of organic pollutants through enhanced surface ozone adsorption and metal doping effects

Shengzhe Wang et al.

Summary: A series of LaFe1-xMnxO3-delta perovskite nanocatalysts were synthesized and tested for catalytic ozonation of m-cresol for the first time. LaFe0.26Mn0.74O3-delta with a rhombohedral structure showed excellent catalytic performance and structural stability due to abundant oxygen vacancies and higher Fe2+/Fe3+ and Mn3+/Mn4+ ratios, enhancing electron transfer and promoting ROS production. The research not only revealed the adsorption/decomposition pathways of ozone but also provided insight into the electron transfer pathway during the catalytic ozonation process on nanocatalysts.
