This study presents the characterization of minerals using tunable external cavity quantum cascade lasers for mid-infrared reflectance spectroscopy. Reflection spectra of common minerals and their variations are shown. Measurements at different incident angles were conducted to mimic field applications. Finally, the technique's quality and usability for mineral characterization were assessed through spectra obtained from mineral mixtures.
