The effect of DNA bases permutation on surface-enhanced Raman scattering spectrum

Shimon Rubin et al.

Summary: SERS enhances Raman scattering cross section of molecules on plasmonic metals, but a deeper understanding of the physico-chemical interactions is needed for predictive power of DNA sensing platforms. Experimental results show that SERS spectra of ssDNA isomers are influenced by base order and this effect is observed even without chemical enhancement. Numerical simulations support the experimental findings that base permutation modifies Raman and chemically enhanced Raman spectra.
