Isogeometric analysis for a phase-field constrained optimization problem of morphological evolution of vesicles in electrical fields

Mohammed Ashour et al.

Summary: In this paper, the constrained Willmore problem coupled with an electrical field is solved using IsoGeometric Analysis (IGA) to simulate the morphological evolution of vesicles subjected to static electrical fields. The two-phase problem is modeled using the phase-field method, and a modified Augmented-Lagrangian approach is used to satisfy the constraints while maintaining a relatively large time step. The results demonstrate the superiority of isogeometric analysis in solving high-order differential operators and accurately simulating the morphological evolution of vesicles.

Generalized finite difference method for electroelastic analysis of three-dimensional piezoelectric structures

Hao Xia et al.

Summary: This study presents the first application of GFDM for numerical solutions of 3D piezoelectric problems, utilizing local partitioning and approximation methods to construct local linear equation systems and establish a sparse stiffness matrix to satisfy mechanical and electrical governing equations. Preliminary experiments demonstrate the method's good applicability and accuracy through comparison with analytical solutions.

AN EFFICIENT LOCALIZED COLLOCATION SOLVER FOR ANOMALOUS DIFFUSION ON SURFACES

Zhuochao Tang et al.

Summary: This paper introduces an efficient collocation solver, the generalized finite difference method (GFDM) combined with the recent-developed scale-dependent time stepping method (SD-TSM), to predict the anomalous diffusion behavior on surfaces governed by surface time-fractional diffusion equations. The proposed solver shows high efficiency and accuracy in solving surface anomalous diffusion behavior, particularly for high-dimensional irregular discretization nodes.
