Hypercrosslinked Polymers as a Photocatalytic Platform for Visible-Light-Driven CO2 Photoreduction Using H2O

Giulia E. M. Schukraft et al.

Summary: Hypercrosslinked polymer (HCP) photocatalysts have been developed for the selective reduction of CO2 to CO, displaying excellent CO2 sorption capacities and good stability in visible light range. These active photocatalysts outperform the benchmark material, TiO2 P25, using only sacrificial H2O, potentially due to superior H2O adsorption capacities facilitating access to photoactive sites.

Enhanced Photoelectrocatalytic Activities for CH3OH-to-HCHO Conversion on Fe2O3/MoO3: Fe-O-Mo Covalency Dominates the Intrinsic Activity

Sheng Huang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the application of a Fe2O3/MoO3 heterojunction in the photoelectrocatalytic conversion of small-molecule alcohols, enhancing the optical carrier transfer rate and optimizing selectivity by constructing interfacial internal electric fields and charge transfer channels. FeMo-2 showed significantly improved performance compared to single Fe2O3, indicating a significant advantage in selectivity and reactivity for HCHO.

Isolated Cobalt Centers on W18O49 Nanowires Perform as a Reaction Switch for Efficient CO2 Photoreduction

Huabin Zhang et al.

Summary: By successfully decorating isolated cobalt atoms onto the surface of ultrathin W18O49 nanowires, the charge carrier separation and electron transport in the catalytic system are greatly accelerated. The modification of the energy configuration of the W18O49@Co hybrid by surface decoration with cobalt atoms also enhances the redox capability of photoexcited electrons for CO2 reduction. The decorated cobalt atoms serve as the real active sites and act as a reaction switch to facilitate the reaction process.
