Atomic interactions of two-dimensional PtS2 quantum dots/TiC heterostructures for hydrogen evolution reaction

Sangmin Jeong et al.

Summary: In this study, a two-dimensional quantum dots catalyst PtS2/TiC with low Pt loading demonstrated excellent hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity. In-situ Raman spectra revealed the important role of S atoms in PtS2 as the active sites for HER. This research provides fundamental understanding for designing more efficient catalysts in electrochemical applications.

Ultralow non-noble metal loaded MOF derived bi-functional electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution and reduction reactions†

Debabrata Bagchi et al.

Summary: The research strategically employed two isophthalate-based ligands to tune the molecular structure and chemical bonding of three Co-based MOFs at the atomic level. The assembly of Co in these novel MOFs at the atomic level dictates the catalytic activity towards the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The catalytic activity of these MOFs has been further boosted upon annealing, forming highly efficient noble-metal-free Co-single atom catalysts with extremely low cobalt content.
