Physical and chemical behaviour of tungsten oxide in the presence of nickel additive under hydrogen and carbon monoxide atmospheres

Fairous Salleh et al.

Summary: The physical and chemical behavior of bulk tungsten oxide and Ni doped tungsten oxide were analyzed using temperature-programmed reduction technique, with XRD, FESEM, and XPS analysis. Reduction studies showed different pathways for WO3 and Ni-doped WO3 under H2 and CO atmospheres, with Ni additive enhancing WO3 reducibility and promoting tungsten carbide formation.

Hybrid heterojunction of molybdenum disulfide/single cobalt atoms anchored nitrogen, sulfur-doped carbon nanotube/cobalt disulfide with multiple active sites for highly efficient hydrogen evolution

Baocang Liu et al.

Summary: The multicomponent 3D monolithic electrode showed excellent electrocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction due to the abundant active sites, outstanding conductivity, and favorable hydrogen adsorption free energy. It outperformed most previously reported molybdenum/cobalt sulfide-based electrocatalysts in acidic and alkaline solutions. Additionally, the electrode demonstrated good durability and stability under prolonged cycling and electrolysis.

Single atom Ru doping 2H-MoS2 as highly efficient hydrogen evolution reaction electrocatalyst in a wide pH range

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized single atom ruthenium-doped 2H-MoS2 catalysts, improving the performance of hydrogen evolution reaction and showing lower overpotentials under different pH conditions. Density functional theory results indicate that this catalyst has a lower Gibbs free energy of H-adsorption, providing a feasible approach for designing and synthesizing efficient MoS2-based catalysts.

pH-dependent hydrogen evolution using spatially confined ruthenium on hollow N-doped carbon nanocages as a Mott-Schottky catalyst

Bidushi Sarkar et al.

Summary: An in situ pyrolysis strategy was used to prepare Ru-decorated hollow N-doped carbon matrix (Ru@NCN) for universal pH HER, which showed superior performance in alkaline and neutral media compared to commercial Pt/C. The correlation between the change in overpotential of Pt/C and Ru@NCN and pH was demonstrated.
