Influence of nickel precursors on the properties and performance of Ni impregnated zeolite 5A and 13X catalysts in CO2 methanation

Liangyuan Wei et al.

Summary: In this study, Zeolite 13X and 5A supported Ni catalysts for CO2 methanation were synthesized using the evaporation impregnation method. The influence of different Ni precursors (nitrate, citrate, acetate) and calcination temperatures on catalyst properties and performance was investigated. It was found that the Ni precursor significantly affected the activity and stability of the catalysts, with Ni citrate synthesized 13X catalyst exhibiting the highest activity and selectivity.

Sub-nanometer ceria-promoted Ni 13X zeolite catalyst for CO2 methanation

Liangyuan Wei et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates that Ce and Ni are highly dispersed in the catalyst, with Ce having a positive effect on the reduction of NiO and leading to relatively more medium basic sites. The 5%Ni2.5%Ce13X catalyst shows high activity and CH4 selectivity, mainly due to the high dispersion of metals and relatively more medium basic sites.
