Calcium-fortified foods in public health programs: considerations for implementation

Cristina Palacios et al.

Summary: Low calcium intake is a common issue globally, leading to health problems in both children and adults. Maternal mortality reduction: a need to focus actions on the prevention of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy

Jose M. Belizan et al.

Summary: Maternal mortality, reflecting global health inequalities, has seen significant reduction due to decreases in hemorrhages but limited improvement in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Population-wide preventive actions, such as calcium supplementation and food fortification, are necessary to reduce the risks associated with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
