Spiral Donor Design Strategy for Blue Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitters

Wei Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the importance of energy level relationships between spiral donors and luminophores on the photoluminescent quantum yields of materials, and proposes the use of quantum chemistry simulations to accurately predict these relationships. The optimized molecular structure and energy alignment play a key role in enhancing the performance of TADF emitters. Ultimately, the TADF emitter DspiroS-TRZ achieved remarkable results with 99.9% PLQY and 38.4% EQE, the highest reported among all blue TADF emitters to date.

Efficient tuning of the conversion from ISC to high-level RISC via adjusting the triplet energies of charge-transporting layers in rubrene-doped OLEDs

Xiantong Tang et al.

Summary: By tuning the triplet energies of charge-transporting layers in rubrene-doped OLEDs, the efficient conversion from intersystem crossing to high-level reverse intersystem crossing can be observed. Meeting certain triplet energy conditions allows for the conversion process, while dominance of intersystem crossing occurs in devices otherwise. Inserting materials with high triplet energies can facilitate the high-level reverse intersystem crossing process.
