Manipulating Emission Enhancement and Piezochromism in Two-Dimensional Organic-Inorganic Halide Perovskite [(HO)(CH2)(2)NH3)](2)PbI4 by High Pressure

Yuanyuan Fang et al.

Summary: Pressure was found to enhance the emission of ETA(2)PbI(4) by four times at 1.5 GPa, resulting in a red shift of the photoluminescence peak to 674 nm, accompanied by visualized piezochromism. This study demonstrates the potential of 2D halide ETA(2)PbI(4) as a candidate material for pressure sensors.

Tuning and Directing Energy Transfer in the Whole Visible Spectrum through Linker Installation in Metal-Organic Frameworks

Daming Ren et al.

Summary: Research shows that utilizing luminescent metal-organic frameworks (LMOFs) with tunable structures can effectively investigate energy transfer (ET) over the entire visible light range. By successfully installing radiative and derivative dicarboxylic acids into LMOFs matrices, ET can be easily controlled, forming a two-dimensional space for emission tuning.

Dimensional Reduction of Lewis Acidic Metal-Organic Frameworks for Multicomponent Reactions

Xuanyu Feng et al.

Summary: This study introduces a dimensional reduction strategy to construct a two-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) with high accessible Lewis acidic sites, which shows superior catalytic performance in sterically hindered multicomponent reactions (MCRs) compared to three-dimensional MOF counterparts. The topology-activity relationships in these Zr-based Lewis acidic MOFs were rationalized by comparing their Lewis acidity, numbers of Lewis acidic sites, and sterically accessible Lewis acidic sites. The dimensional reduction strategy holds promise for developing other MOF catalysts for synthetically useful and complicated organic transformations.

Adaptive response of a metal-organic framework through reversible disorder-disorder transitions

S. Ehrling et al.

Summary: Porous metal-organic frameworks are excellent candidates for gas storage, separation, catalysis, and sensing due to their ultrahigh porosity and varied functionalities. Some frameworks have the ability to open their pores to specific guests and switch between two stability minima, enabling highly selective separation. A recent study showed a metal-organic framework based on nonlinear linkers can adopt a complex family of degenerate disordered configurations through guest exchange.

Counterion Migration Driven by Light-Induced Intramolecular Charge Transfer

Ta-Chun Lin et al.

Summary: The research revealed that in weakly polar solvents, excited-state intramolecular charge transfer induces counteranion migration for electrostatic stabilization, with the time scale depending on the radius of the counteranion, the length of the pi-linker, and the viscosity of the solvent. In low-viscosity organic solvents, counteranion migration occurs within several tens to hundreds of picoseconds, resulting in a time-dependent continuous emission phenomenon.
