A microfluidic cloth-based photoelectrochemical analytical device for the detection of glucose in saliva

Summary: Photoelectrochemical detection using microfluidic cloth-based analytical devices has been demonstrated for sensitive and rapid nonenzymatic measurement of glucose in saliva. By integrating cadmium sulfide quantum dots and multiwalled carbon nanotubes, the cloth-based device shows good selectivity, reproducibility, and long-term stability, with a detection limit of 15.99 nM. This method has been successfully applied for the detection of glucose in real saliva samples, indicating promising potential for biochemical applications.

Facile synthesis of NaNbxTa1-xO3 with abundant oxygen vacancies for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution without co-catalyst

Summary: By a facile one-step hydrothermal method, NaNbxTa1-xO3, sodium tantalate and niobate with B atoms substitution, were successfully synthesized as effective photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution without the need for co-catalysts. Among them, NaNb0.33Ta0.67O3 displayed the best performance, producing H2 in a quantity more than 5 times that of NaTaO3 and NaNbO3, with a transition state crystal structure between the two and abundant oxygen vacancies. These features contribute to its excellent properties such as good light harvesting and efficient charge separation.
