Adherence to the 'Atrial Fibrillation Better Care' Pathway in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: Impact on Clinical Outcomes-A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of 285,000 Patients

Giulio Francesco Romiti et al.

Summary: A systematic review and meta-analysis of studies on the use of the ABC pathway in patients with atrial fibrillation showed suboptimal adherence at 21%, but adherence was associated with a lower risk of all-cause death, cardiovascular death, stroke, and major bleeding. Comorbidities and longer follow-up were identified as factors affecting heterogeneity and effectiveness of the pathway.

Atrial Fibrillation Detected by Single Time-Point Handheld Electrocardiogram Screening and the Risk of Ischemic Stroke

Wen Sun et al.

Summary: The study evaluated stroke risk in patients with single time-point screen-detected atrial fibrillation (AF) and found that the risk of stroke is high enough to warrant oral anticoagulant use for prevention while being reduced by oral anticoagulants.

Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Asymptomatic Atrial Fibrillation Incidentally Detected in Primary Care Compared with Other Clinical Presentations

Christopher Wallenhorst et al.

Summary: The study found that the risk of ischemic stroke in patients with incidentally detected AA-AF in primary care is not lower than clinically presented AF patients, highlighting the importance of identifying previously undetected AF through opportunistic screening and implementing stroke prevention measures.
