Estimating the Impact of Verification Bias on Celiac Disease Testing

Isabel A. Hujoel et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of verification bias on the diagnostic accuracy of IgA tTG in detecting celiac disease, revealing that the 2016 CER may have overestimated the sensitivity of IgA tTG. Caution should be exercised when interpreting negative IgA tTG results to rule out celiac disease in clinical practice.
