High-Sensitivity Flexible X-Ray Detectors based on Printed Perovskite Inks

Andrea Ciavatti et al.

Summary: Research on hybrid perovskites as promising materials for X- and gamma-photon detection has been driven by the demand for high-energy radiation detection systems combining high sensitivity, low-cost, and large-area fabrication. Flexible direct X-ray detectors based on printed methylammonium lead triiodide nanocrystals inks have demonstrated outstanding real-time detection properties, achieving record optoelectronic performances such as high X-ray sensitivity, radiation tolerance, and fast response time. These detectors have also been assessed for functionality under bending stress and high X-ray energy, paving the way for flexible real-time direct radiation detectors and imagers operating at low voltages and manufactured through large-scale processes.

Determination of X-ray detection limit and applications in perovskite X-ray detectors

Lei Pan et al.

Summary: In this study, a new statistical model is proposed to determine the detection limit of X-ray detectors by measuring dark current and photocurrent. The authors found that in addition to material quality, device architecture and working mode also have a significant influence on sensitivity and detection limit.
