Summary: This study proposes a theoretical framework of industrial big-data-based affordance called the organizational drivetrain and examines its role in promoting digital transformation. The findings identify three affordances of industrial big data in organizations and reveal the underlying mechanisms for its effective use. The practical implications of this study provide guidance for practitioners to implement digital transformation and extract value from it.
