ENDS Device Type and Initiation of Combustible Tobacco Products Among Adolescents

Aslesha Sumbe et al.

Summary: The study found that the type of ENDS device used at initial use may predict subsequent initiation of combustible tobacco products among adolescents. Adolescents who reported using replaceable cartridges as their initial device type were less likely to initiate combustible tobacco use, while those who reported using refillables were more likely to initiate combustible tobacco use at the same time as ENDS use. No significant differences were found in initiation patterns for disposable devices.
