Cannabis in Parkinson's Disease: The Patients' View

Ferhat Yenilmez et al.

Summary: Many PD patients consider medical cannabis as a therapeutic option, with some reporting significant symptom improvement after use. Oral CBD was reported to improve symptoms in 54% of users, while inhaling THC-containing cannabis led to improvement in 68% of users. Inhalation of THC was more frequently reported to reduce akinesia and stiffness compared to CBD intake. More research is needed to further investigate efficacy and different routes of administration for medical cannabis use in PD patients.
