Recent advances in the design of microfluidic technologies for the manufacture of drug releasing particles

Summary: This review examines various types of microfluidic devices used to fabricate drug releasing particles from different biomaterials and how on-chip features enable the production of particles with different properties. The article concludes by suggesting future directions for these technologies to be used in industrial settings for the manufacture of drug releasing particles with unique capabilities.

Self-Organized Tailoring of Faceted Glass Nanowrinkles for Organic Nanoelectronics

Summary: Self-organized wrinkled templates are fabricated on large area glass substrates by defocused ion beam irradiation, allowing control of the tilt and morphology of nanofacets. The crucial parameter is the local ion beam incidence angle corresponding to the maximum erosion velocity. These templates can drive the anisotropic crystallization of spun-cast conductive polymer thin films.
