Improved H2 production of ZnO@ZnS nanorod-decorated Ni foam immobilized photocatalysts

Chi-Jung Chang et al.

Summary: The ZnO@ZnS nanorod-decorated Ni foam photocatalyst showed enhanced photocatalytic activity for hydrogen generation compared to the ZnO/Ni foam counterpart. The incorporation of the ZnS shell and the conductive Ni foam substrate facilitated the separation of photoexcited charge carriers. The porous texture of the Ni foam promoted effective contact between the sacrificial agent and the immobilized photocatalyst, leading to improved hydrogen generation performance.

Tailoring the interactions of heterogeneous Ag2S/Ag interface for efficient CO2 electroreduction

Ke Ye et al.

Summary: A strategy to in situ reconstruct a heterogeneous Ag2S/Ag interface structure is proposed for electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction, showing superior performance in terms of high current density and stable CO Faradaic efficiency. Density functional theory calculations reveal that the in situ reconstructive Ag2S/Ag interface active sites stabilize the *COOH intermediate during CO2RR process.

The quaternary system of Ag2S/ZnS co-modified ZnO/TiO2 nanotree arrays: Excellent photocatalysis and photoelectrochemistry performance

Kang Xu et al.

Summary: The ZnO/TiO2 nanotree arrays promote the separation of electron-hole pairs, with improved photoelectrochemical and photocatalytic properties. The core-shell structure of ZnS passivation layer and ZnO prevents decomposition, enhances light absorption, and promotes charge transfer. Ag2S modification reduces bandgap width, red-shifts optical absorption edge, and improves absorption intensity, resulting in enhanced photo current density and photocatalytic rate constants compared to pure TiO2.
