Metathesis Reaction to Form Nanosheet-Structured Co(OH)2 Deposited on N-Doped Carbon as Composite Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Reduction

Hui-Juan Zhang et al.

Summary: Developing effective non-precious metal electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is crucial for clean energy systems. In this study, Co(OH)(2)/NC catalysts were synthesized using simple methods, with Co(OH)(2)/NC-KOH showing superior catalytic activity and stability due to strong synergistic electrocatalysis between N-doped carbon and Co(OH)(2) nanosheets. An ORR electrocatalysis mechanism on Co(OH)(2)/NC was also proposed for fundamental understanding.
