Platinum Island-on-Copper-Nickel Alloy Nanoparticle/Carbon Trimetallic Nanocatalyst for Selective Hydrogenation of Cinnamaldehyde

An Pei et al.

Summary: Two series of catalysts with tuned nanostructures exhibited much more excellent catalytic performance than catalysts with platinum-transition metal alloy structures and transition metal/carbon for the selective hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde. The Pt-CuNi/C-reduced catalyst also showed superior stability in cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation.

Fabrication of porous polymer membrane from polysulfone grafted with acid ionic liquid and the catalytic property for inulin hydrolysis

Han Jiang et al.

Summary: The PSF-DG-ILs membranes were prepared by grafting imidazolyl acid ILs onto polysulfone, and choosing ethanol as coagulation agent effectively enhanced catalytic performance due to surface segregation. Blending different polymers with high and low ILs grafting degree synergistically enhanced mechanical strength and catalytic ability, breaking the trade-off effect between the two.

Cu-Ag Bimetallic Core-shell Nanoparticles in Pores of a Membrane Microreactor for Enhanced Synergistic Catalysis

Yu Chen et al.

Summary: Through the preparation of Cu-Ag core-shell nanoparticles immobilized in membrane pores, the utilization of Ag atoms is improved, promoting electron transfer between bimetallic components to form high electron density active sites and active hydrogen with strong reducing properties on the Ag surface. The dispersed membrane pores prevent nanoparticle aggregation and enhance contact between reaction fluid and catalyst, leading to enhanced mass transfer. In the hydrogenation catalysis process, plug-flow mode achieves enhanced mass transfer.
