Composition and electrical properties characterization of a 5 diameter PIN-PMN-PT single crystal by the modified Bridgman method

Kexin Song et al.

Summary: The distribution of composition in a Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O-3-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O-3-PbTiO3 relaxor ferroelectric single crystal was investigated, showing increased PbTiO3 contents along the growth direction indicating compositional segregation. The crystal was divided into different regions based on domain structure and electrical performance, with the optimal piezoelectric coefficient d 33 exceeding 2000 pC/N in the 5 '' single crystal, providing valuable information for large sized single crystal growth of relaxor ferroelectric materials.

Large-Area Piezoelectric Single Crystal Composites via 3-D-Printing-Assisted Dice-and-Insert Technology for Hydrophone Applications

Ting Wang et al.

Summary: Piezoelectric single crystal composites (PSCCs) are considered promising candidates for hydrophone applications due to their superior hydrostatic performance, but challenges remain in preparing large-area or conformal PSCCs due to the brittleness and small dimensions of single crystals. A large-area PSCC was successfully prepared using 3D-printing-assisted dice-and-insert technology, showing significant advantages in hydrostatic piezoelectric performance compared to other materials. This breakthrough technology allows for the production of large-scale piezoelectric composites, enhancing the sensitivity of hydrophones significantly.
