A Systematic Study of the Interactions in the Top Electrode/Capping Layer/Thin Film Encapsulation of Transparent OLEDs

Byoung-Hwa Kwon et al.

Summary: The development of flexible transparent organic light-emitting devices (TOLEDs) requires advancements in transparent conducting electrodes, capping layers (CL) acting as refractive index-matching, and thin film encapsulation (TFE) with high water vapor barrier properties. In this study, TOLEDs were fabricated with a thin Ag top electrode, different CLs, and high water vapor barrier encapsulation. CL materials affected film formation on the top electrode layer, but did not impact the properties of the Al2O3 thin films.
