Summary: This article examines aluminum therapy as an extreme and important example where industry and health researchers collaborated on quick-fix miracle cures for silicosis instead of making systemic changes to reduce the risk. Despite the failure to replicate preventative effects of silicosis and evidence of adverse neurological impacts, aluminum therapy continued until the 1980s.
