Rethinking the governance and planning of a new generation of greenbelts

Summary: In recent years, a new generation of greenbelts embedded within dynamic regionalism processes has posed governance challenges in terms of coordinating across multiple policy fields, territorial jurisdictions, and policy levels. The development of greenbelts in southern Ontario (Canada) and the Frankfurt region (Germany) has highlighted the need for new policy approaches and institutional reforms to manage these challenges.
