A meta-analysis of relapse rates in cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders

Hannah C. Levy et al.

Summary: CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety and related disorders, with an overall relapse rate of 14%. The definition of relapse significantly influences relapse rates, with estimates lower when based on meeting diagnostic criteria. Efforts to improve relapse prevention skills and interventions are needed to minimize the risk of relapse in patients.
