Residential patterns of Mexica human sacrifices at Mexico-Tenochtitlan and Mexico-Tlatelolco: Evidence from phosphate oxygen isotopes

Diana K. Moreiras Reynaga et al.

Summary: The study found that the sacrifices at Tlatelolco were mostly locals or long-term residents, while the sacrifices at Templo Mayor were mostly non-locals and long-term residents for subadults, and long-term residents or non-locals for adults. This suggests that the Templo Mayor priests had access to a diverse range of individuals for sacrifice with different origins.
