Francesco Debellis et al.

Summary: Despite the increasing number of studies on international joint ventures (IJVs) and family businesses, these two research areas have not been systematically integrated. Family businesses have unique characteristics that affect their involvement in IJVs differently from non-family businesses. Research suggests that strong emotional attachment in family businesses can reduce strategic sensitivity, but utilizing the board of directors can enhance leadership unity and resource fluidity, leading to better management of IJVs.
