Financial agglomeration, technological innovation, and green total factor energy efficiency

Xuefeng Li et al.

Summary: The study found that most provinces in China have low green total factor energy efficiency, with eastern coastal provinces showing higher efficiency. China's three regions exhibit similar trends in GTFEE. There is a strong spatial correlation between provincial GTFEE, with adjacent provinces often having similar levels. Financial agglomeration inhibits GTFEE significantly, while technological innovation promotes it.

Does geopolitical risk promote mergers and acquisitions of listed companies in energy and electric power industries

Huayu Shen et al.

Summary: Geopolitical risk significantly promotes mergers and acquisitions (M&A), potentially through mechanisms such as real options and prospect synergy effect. However, the positive influence of geopolitical risk on M&A is attenuated by debt ratio and ownership property. Instrumental variable and other robustness tests support these findings.

Environmental Regulation, Resource Misallocation, and Ecological Efficiency

Shuhong Wang et al.

Summary: This study presents an ecological efficiency analysis by combining the potential of every area in China in terms of emissions reduction and energy savings with resource allocation. Results indicate a U-shaped relationship between provincial relative environmental regulation strength and resource misallocation degree, where regulation could relieve resource misallocation somewhat and improve ecological efficiency. However, after the curve's turning, ecological efficiency deteriorates. The study expands the research boundary of economics and ecology and provides a reference for policy-makers.

Electrification, telecommunications, and the finance-growth nexus: Evidence from firm-level data

Christopher Cotter et al.

Summary: National investments in technological infrastructures facilitate firm-level adoption of tangible innovations, particularly in energy and telecommunications sectors. Firms with greater access to financial resources are better positioned to benefit from these investments, resulting in higher sales and employment growth.
