Motives and Laterality: Exploring the Links

Summary: The study revealed associations between dispositional motives and FCAs, with high AI individuals showing rightward asymmetry and less interhemispheric transfer for power motivation, and low AI individuals showing leftward asymmetry and more interhemispheric transfer. Results for the affiliation motive were fewer and in the opposite direction of those for power motivation, and these findings were only observed in men.

Navigating Motivation: A Semantic and Subjective Atlas of 7 Motives

Summary: This study explores the diversity of motives and their impact on human decision-making, revealing at least seven distinct motives that may influence decision-making. The findings show that some motives are conceptually close and more likely to be experienced together. The semantic atlas generated through analysis replicates most of the relations found in the subjective atlas.
